As Sarah's resignation seems to grow more likely by the hour, I though a poll would be in orderl I'd make it a contest, but I'm not sure what the prize would be...

I am wondering why you all seem to take so much delight in the plight of the Palin family.

To me it is little different than the rude remarks made about Mrs. Edwards.

It was wrong for everyone to be preoccupied by the Edwards family's plight, and I see no one here taking the higher ground on this issue.

Dare I say, you all seem rather sad due to the fact that you resort to this type of chit chat. Hm, I must be in a hen house, time for me to leave.

Ah, yes, another classic republican dodge--- "Someone needs to take the higher ground. You go first..."

Please don't take this personally, but IT'S THEY HYPOCRISY, STUPID!!!

Edwards traded on his squeaky-clean image and got busted. Craig and Vitters traded on their god-fearing credentials and got busted. (Bill Clinton's in a class by himself as a serial philanderer and, when caught, a liar. But he's the touchstone for all the republican fulminations.)

Sarah P's wide stance on so many extreme anti-choice, anti-education, anti-science measures is so well documented here that I won't even put together a short list. That's what's behind all this "delight " -- a belated opportunity to call the kettle less than pristine.

From rasmussenreports.com:

A week ago, most Americans had never heard of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Now, following a Vice Presidential acceptance speech viewed live by more than 40 million people, Palin is viewed favorably by 58% of American voters. Perhaps most stunning is the fact that Palin's favorable ratings are now a point higher than either man at the top of the Presidential tickets this year. As of Friday morning, Obama and McCain are each viewed favorably by 57% of voters. Biden is viewed favorably by 48%.

Stay tuned to CNN... she'll be resigning any minute now... lol

BTW - Your poll needs to be amended so people can actually pick the CORRECT answer... "She'll ride this moose all the way to Washington." As it is now, everyone who votes will be wrong. Since I can't vote my choice, I'll take a page from the Obama playbook... I vote "present".

A polar bear rug? A caribou head? An all expenses paid tour of the tiny town where she was mayor? The possibilities are endless. . .

She probably has a Polar Bear rug! After all - she does not think they are endangered - and everyone has seen the pictures of her walking around the woods toting a rifle!

It looks to me like the repubs are going to ride this one out. Whether that's good or bad remains to be seen.

It looks like the republicans are going to tough this out. Personally I hope this is a big mistake, but it's too early to tell. You can fool some of the people all of the time ....

That's the appearance of things on the morning shows. Still, another big story could put Sarah into the Eagleton Club.

According to MSNBC, Joe Lieberman was McC's first pick but he was shouted down by his own committee. Instead he picked the poster child for right-wing special interests.

Much as I dislike McCain, he's interesting when he is the maverick and simply pathetic when he's the panderer. The Palin anti-choice (in so many ways) puts him into this latter category.

I hope Palin hangs on at least until she is destroyed in the debate. Then it will be "I need to spend more time with my family" and back into the deep freeze.

I can only begin to imagin how much Republicans have on Joe Biden and his voting record. How much pork has been filtered through his fingers? His record of pork-barrel spending is going to work against him no matter who the Republican VP candidate is. He is going to squirm when he is forced to confront his own record.

Who will win the debate? I don't know. Maybe she will be "destroyed" as you suggest. But the more Biden and the Democrats think the outcome is a foregone conclusion, the more the scale tips in Palin's favor.

And good riddance to her - even though I have supported Obama from the beginning. The fact that the Republican party "could" win - whether I feel they should or not - makes this VERY SCARY! Her stance on issues is way too Right Wing and so wrong for our country.
Don't start calling me a liberal facist, either, I voted for Reagan - twice!!!

I voted for Bush twice...after the second time, I swore to myself never to blindly vote for someone just because they're charming, funny, tough...etc. Unfortunately, there are so many voters out there that still do that...not as many as last election, but Republicans are counting on that complacency. I think when she resigns, it will be blamed on "the distraction caused by media, and the Democrats"

Don't see her resigning given her purported reputation. McCain's personality doesn't back away from a fight. This all reminds me of McGoveron and his VP choice who was withdrawn b/c stigma attached to depression. It is very important to vet her on issues not the private matters involving her children. That is not the measure of the ability to govern. It will backfire on the democrats if they "swiftboat" Palin using her daugher.
